GC Surge forwards confirmed alarms to your alarm system. The main destination for the whole account is set in Settings > Alarm reception (see Settings). In addition you can set a destination for one site or for one device, for example when one customer has its own alarm receiver.
Watch:
Step 1: Open Sites & Cameras.
Step 2: For a site: in the site row, click Actions (the … button) and choose Forward alarms. For a device: click the arrow next to the site to show its devices, then in the device row click Actions and choose Forward alarms.
Step 3: The dialog Forward Alarms opens ("Optionally configure where alarms should be forwarded to.").

Step 4: Click Add Forward Alarm and choose Webhook or SIA-DC09.

Step 5: Fill in the fields:
Field (SIA-DC09) | What to enter |
|---|---|
IP Address | The address of your alarm receiver. Numbers only. |
Port | The port of your alarm receiver (1 to 65535). |
Account | The account number set on your alarm receiver. |
Key | The key set on your alarm receiver. |
Field (Webhook) | What to enter |
|---|---|
Method | GET, POST or PUT. POST is preselected. |
URL | The address of your webhook. It starts with http or https. |
Headers | A key and a value. Click + ADD for more headers. |
Payload | Preset rows (alarmCode, alarmMsg, alarmUrl, alarmValue, payload, header, files). Untick a row to leave it out. Click + ADD to add your own. |
Authentication | No Auth (preselected), Basic Auth, Digest Auth or Bearer Token. |
Step 6: To add another destination, click Add Forward Alarm again. Several destinations can be saved in one dialog. To remove a destination or a header, click its trash icon.
Step 7: Click Save. You see "Forward alarms configured successfully".
Step 8: Trigger a test alarm, let an operator confirm it as a real alarm, and check that your alarm system received it. In Recordings, open the alarm: ARS delivery shows Delivered to ARS when every destination received it.
Symptom | Cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
"Failed to configure forward alarms" | A field is missing or not valid. | Check IP address (numbers only), port (1 to 65535) and URL (starts with http or https). |
"Could not load forward alarm configuration." | A temporary problem. | Close the dialog and open it again. |
Nothing arrives at the alarm receiver (SIA DC-09) | Wrong IP or port, firewall, or account and key do not match. | Check all four values with the administrator of the alarm system. Open the port on the firewall for incoming connections. |
The receiver gets the message but rejects it | The key or the account is different on the receiver. | Set the same account and key on both sides. |
Nothing arrives at the webhook | Wrong URL, wrong method, or the authentication is refused. | Test the URL with the same method and authentication from another tool. Check the headers. |
Your alarm system gets the same alarm twice | Forwarding is set on two levels to the same destination. | Remove one of them. |
No destination is set anywhere | No receiver was configured. | Alarms stay in GC Surge and are not forwarded. Settings > Alarm reception shows "No alarm receiver configured", and in Recordings the alarm status shows Real alarm · no ARS receiver or No operator · no ARS receiver. Set a destination in Settings > Alarm reception or here. |
